The movement control order (MCO) ordered by the government of Malaysia to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus has forced many to look into what truly matters in a home. Having to spend longer hours at home, people are naturally thinking about ways to make their home more comfortable.
KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Land and Maybank Islamic have teamed up to help more Malaysians own their dream homes under the latter’s HouzKEY scheme.
Gamuda Land CEO Ngan Chee Meng said on Monday HouzKEY provided an alternative financial scheme to its existing solutions under the Gamuda Land Home Ownership Made Easy (GL HOME).
The scheme aims to offer one-stop tailored solutions to help purchasers to navigate through their various financing options to buy their dream homes.
Maybank’s Real Estate Ventures managing director Sally Lye said the bank’s priority was to provide a solution that helps to address the growing homeownership concerns in Malaysia.
“We truly believe that the opportunity to own a home should not be a privilege, but a necessity for all. We are confident that the combination of our financing solution with Gamuda Land’s projects can be a great opportunity for first time homebuyers and upgraders in realising their dream to own a home, ” Lye said.
Under the GL HOME and Maybank Islamic’s HouzKEY, potential buyers do not need to pay any downpayment and no payment is required until the completion of the property.
Purchasers can lock in today’s property price for the next five years and secure a 100% loan margin when they are ready to purchase. The potential buyers just have to pay three months of security deposit and low monthly payment when they move in.
Ngan said the Maybank Islamic’s HouzKEY through GL HOME was attractive to young, first and second-time home buyers.
“The scheme gives our buyers better cash flow by paying low monthly instalment and yet able to lock in today’s property price while enjoying capital appreciation five years later, ” he said.
Currently, Maybank Islamic’s HouzKEY is for selected residential properties in Klang Valley, including HighPark Suites in Petaling Jaya; Gamuda Gardens’ first serviced apartments GAIA Residences and its landed homes Joya; Gamuda Cove’s first serviced apartments Maya Bay Residences; twentyfive.7’s first serviced apartments Amber Residence; as well as in Johor Iskandar Puteri, namely Horizon Hills’ superlink homes The Woodland.
