The iconic Kota Permai and Horizon Hills held the Malaysian flag high as the Clubs added yet another industry accolades to its enviable collections. Kota Permai and Horizon Hills had been officially recognized as the 1st and 2nd runner up Best Course in Malaysia at the Asian Pacific Golf Summit and Gala Awards (APGS) 2016 which was staged at the exotic Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hua Hin from October 29-30. Kota Permai is also proud to be hailed as the Top 10 Best Maintained Course in Asia Pacific.
Upon learning of this achievement, Malaysia Golf Tourism Association (MGTA) President Mr. Ng Eu Shen said “The recognition awarded to both Kota Permai and Horizon Hills is very befitting for the top golf facilities in Malaysia. There is no question in my mind that both clubs’ management level is the top in the region”.
Asian Tour Director of Communications Mr. Chuah Choo Chiang was quick to congratulate “I would like to extend my fullest congratulations to Kota Permai Golf and Country Club and Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club for their recent recognition and awards. Both golf courses have successfully hosted Asian Tour tournaments in the past and it is not a surprise the quality of both venues have been duly recognized by the industry once again.”
Both prestigious golf properties have won numerous awards and continue to garner praise and rave reviews. Kota Permai is a joint venture between Gamuda Berhad and DRB-Hicom Berhad while Horizon Hills is a joint venture between Gamuda Berhad and UEM Sunrise Holdings Berhad. Both award winning golf courses are designed by world famous golf course designer Ross Watson.

With the Gamuda Group leading by example, golf in Malaysia continues to have a sizeable upside.”

The Asia Pacific Golf Group culminated the 10th anniversary of the longest-running conference on the business of golf, which is the Asia Pacific Golf Summit. Speakers included Andrew Wood, Founder and President of Legendary Marketing LLC; Gabe Aluisy, Founder and President of Shake Creative, John Solheim, Chairman of the PING Corporation and David Leadbetter of the Leadbetter Academy.
