Located just a 20-minute drive from Petaling Jaya, Gamuda Gardens in north Sungai Buloh is an 810-acre township that captivates people with its lush greenery, two waterfalls, five cascading lakes, and ample community places.
With the first group of residents moving in soon, the developer is upping the ante by putting together excitements introduced under Xploria in Gamuda Gardens to further enhance personality of the town for better community experience. Xploria is a placemaking initiative dedicated to an assortment of attractions that cater to the recreational and entertainment needs of all visitors and residents.
“What make us different is our town-making that focuses on the importance of lively neighbourhood and inviting public spaces. It may sound very technical but placemaking to us is not just about designing parks or entertainment places. It is the mindful planning that goes into the careful design of efficient walkways and motorways, the interrelations between every component in the town be it the park, the school, the retail, the F&Bs, the landscaping and ensure that all these come together harmoniously in the right setting,” said Chu Wai Lune, General Manager of Gamuda Gardens.
“Ultimately, we are designing a comprehensive township that provides greater value for the community than just the sum of its parts,” Chu explained.
Highlights of Xploria
Open green spaces in particular are becoming more important due to their natural ability to facilitate conversations and engagement among community of all ages. This township features a 50-acre central park, crafted according to the natural undulating terrain with 5.5 km of jogging loop around the park that supports the community’s health and wellness journey.
The Gamuda Gardens Central Park is also one of the few parks in the Klang Valley that is pet-friendly. Paws Playland, a point of interest in Xploria is an off-leash space specially set aside for residents to have fun times with their furry friends. Here, there are basic agility equipment for pet training, as well as a pet playground and a pet party place.
Nestled within the lush green central park is Adventure Playland, another Xploria highlight. Featuring more than the usual slides and swings, this children’s playground is integrated with a zipline and a challenging rope-climbing structure that will appeal to families and children for enjoyable fitness pursuits.
Waterfront Village
Directly accessible from the central park and situated by the lakeside, the sprawling Waterfront Village allows residents to meet their daily needs without having to travel far.
Tenants here range from F&B outlets, a bicycle rental shop and a grocer, Freshii Neighbourhood Market, which opens daily from 10am to 8pm.
Located within the Waterfront Village, Gardens Wellness Club is well-equipped with facilities such as eight badminton courts, Olympic-length swimming pool, dance studio and more to support the community’s health and wellness needs.
All the components are designed to complement each other, thus making it a one-stop centre for residents to meet their day-to-day social activity requirements within the neighbourhood.
Big Bucket Splash
Residents and visitors can already enjoy a respite from the heat and cool off at the neighbourhood’s water play park called the Big Bucket Splash, which is also part of Gamuda Gardens’ Xploria.
Measuring 12,700 sq ft and well-equipped with towering slides, shallow pools, water guns, animal characters and rain buckets, just to name a few of the exciting features, the Big Bucket Splash is a place for children and adults to spend enjoyable hours within the township. The water park is also an ideal venue for fun celebratory events such as children’s birthday parties.
More excitements in Xploria
Excitements in Xploria include the Gardens Arena FIFA-standard football pitch and the enchanting Le Gardens Pavilion event space facing the lush greenery within the Central Park and can comfortably fit up to 400 guests.
Further attractions set to be launched by end of 2020 include a horse-riding facility for the young explorers to ride a 1.5km forest trail. There will also be a paddock area for leisure rides, a Crazy Cart drift for an adrenaline rush, a panoramic picnic boat ride on the majestic lake as well as the Gamuda Parks’ nature school for young minds to explore the environment through a series of well-curated outdoor learning programs such as the Rainforest Scientist, Entomologist, Soil Science, Aquatic Ecology, Ornithology (study on birds) and more. One will be guided through the forest trail to listen to the sound of the tropical rainforest and understand the ecosystem as a whole through the outdoor learning experience.
“When we are being mindful with placemaking as part of our town-making, we know that it will make our town works for the people who call Gamuda Gardens home. Our community will get a feel for the town’s personality when they come here and experience memorable time with friends and family. It is these happy moments that will create a sense of belonging for people and that is why we are investing in these transformative placemaking strategies to better support our community well into the future,” said Chu adding that the developer is in negotiation for more exciting features in Xploria which will be announced in due time.
Gamuda Gardens City Centre
Gamuda Gardens City Centre, the heart and pulse of the township is set to complete by 2023. Poised to address the recreation and entertainment gap between Kuala Lumpur and the northern part of the Klang Valley, it will be the beating heart of Klang Valley North.
In creating the Gamuda Gardens City Centre, the developer is crafting a play place, shopping place, learning place and work place. Dedicated to retail entertainment, the elements within this city centre are thoughtfully composed of unique retail experiences and exciting attractions.
Gamuda Gardens’ Skyline Luge
Nature-lovers and thrill-seekers can look forward to one of the upcoming thrilling rides in Gamuda Gardens City Centre called Skyline Luge. With 600 metres of tracks, designed with twists, turns and tunnels, the Luge is a unique wheeled-gravity ride that provides riders full control over their descent on purpose-built tracks. To be built on a 40,000 sqm hill site along with a sky ride overlooking Gamuda Gardens’ panoramic greenery, the Skyline Luge will offer one of the world’s most exhilarating rides.
“We want this town to be very relatable, a place that is created for people. Beyond brick and mortar, we crafted gathering places and play places for people to enjoy, to connect with each other and to really reconnect with nature,” Chu concluded.
