3 May, SG. BULOH – Gamuda Gardens breaks new grounds in Malaysia today by collaborating with New Zealand tourism company, Skyline Enterprises, to build a world-class Luge attraction, offering Luge’s innovative outdoor adventure activities.
1. Skyline Luge and Ziplines – first in Malaysia
To be built on a 30,000 sqm hill site overlooking Gamuda Gardens’ panoramic greenery, five cascading lakes and two waterfalls, the Luge facility will offer one of the world’s most exhilarating rides, the Skyline Luge and adventure rides in the sky, the Skyline Zoom Ziplines.
Gamuda Land’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ngan Chee Meng inked the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Skyline Enterprises’ Chief Executive Officer, Mr Geoff McDonald, for the establishment of the tourist attraction site which will also include extensive food and beverage (F&B) offerings.
With 600 meters of tracks which are designed with twists, turns and tunnels, the Skyline Luge is a unique wheeled-gravity ride that provides riders full control over their descent on purpose-built tracks. The Zoom Ziplines will allow adventure seekers to race at speeds of up to 80km/h.
Ngan said, “We are delighted that Skyline Enterprises, an iconic brand with global operations, has chosen Gamuda Gardens for their first foray into Malaysia. Gamuda Gardens, built with respect to nature and the environment, retains the hilly terrain coupled with enhanced greenery, lakes and waterfalls, is the ideal location for adventurous activities such as the Luge and the Zoom Ziplines.
“We are confident the Luge activities which will be built on an elevation of 45 metres will be a major attraction. Complementing the leisure component of our masterplan, the Luge will be an integrated part of our RM4.3 billion Gamuda Gardens City Centre which will also include a one million sq. ft. regional retail mall with entertainment elements, the only sizeable mall within a 24 km radius, healthcare and wellness places, learning institutions, events grounds, cinemas and F&B offerings.”

2. Waterfalls and Pet-friendly Park
The common ground for everybody is the community, where people know one another, live and play together and ultimately look out for each other.
“As a town-maker, Gamuda Land creates a place for everybody to call home, be it growing family, singles, multi-generation families or our furry friends because a good town is about people and diversity. From our waterfalls, lakes, pet-friendly park, wetlands, jogging and cycling trails, we mindfully planned something for everybody so that people can connect with one another and with nature,” Ngan explained.
3. International School
Ngan also inked an MoU with Beaconhouse’s Regional Director, En Ali Raza for the establishment of a Beaconhouse International School which will offer pre-school to secondary education. To be established in phases with total completion targeted for September 2022, the school will be able to house over 1,200 students.
4. Sports & Wellness
In addition, Gamuda Land signed MoUs with six (6) brands in the sports and wellness as well as conveniences sectors, ensuring the community would enjoy an integrated township with facilities and amenities within easy reach.
Ngan said, “Our partners are a key component of our masterplan which aims to ensure a good balance of residential, commercial and leisure offerings. For sports and wellness, we have Arena Legacy and Ecocana Sports. For events space, there is Wedding by Emma, a boutique agency. And we have 7-Eleven, Mr DIY and Petron for daily needs.”
The MoU signatories are Arena Legacy Executive Director, En Sha’arin Mohd Razali; Ecocana Sports Director, Ms Chin Fei Yeh; Wedding by Emma Director, Puan Zuraida Ja’far; 7-Eleven General Manager, Real Estate & Construction, Mr Don Aaron; Mr DIY Business Development Manager, Mr Leo Gan; and Petron Retail Network Expansion Manager, En. Mohd Shaibi Ahmad Hijazi.
To be opened next year, a 100,000 sq. ft. Waterfront Village, facing the waterfalls will house a sports and wellness centre with facilities such as an Olympic-length swimming pool, badminton courts, sauna and water play park.
Ngan added, “We thank our international and local partners for their confidence in our brand, and that Gamuda Gardens will be the catalyst of growth for northern Klang Valley.
“There will be ample business opportunities for several reasons. Firstly, we see opportunity in the rising population of KL North. With an immediate catchment of 951,000 people within a 20 km radius of Gamuda Gardens, we believe we are in a good position to capitalise on this growth due to our legacy in good and sustainable town making. Secondly, our direct connectivity to major highways and rail networks create opportunities for people to move to Gamuda Gardens, yet remain close enough to PJ, Damansara and Kuala Lumpur,” Ngan concluded.
