Even as we continue to add to the 1,500 acres
of gardens Gamuda Parks has created,
even as we plant the 300,000th. tree in our latest park,
we are mindful of how fragile nature is.
So when we work with the land,
we try not to change the terrain.
We allow it to return to its natural state,
to encourage the spread of flora and fauna.
It is really about mindful planning;
conserving existing trees and replanting
only species that are native to the land,
that in turn support local birds and insects.
When we do it this way, we respect nature,
and what was there before us.

Even as our residents enjoy the miles of walkways, bike paths
and nature trails through our parks,
we try to think of more ways to draw people outdoor.
When we add to the 100km network of pathways
that Gamuda Parks has created in our townships,
we also provide ample amenities for the people;
like children's playground, exercise stations and outdoor gyms.
Mindful of the comfort, we blend in lush trees and flowering shrubs
to create a cooling and pleasant environment to work out or play in.
This is how we connect our community with their neighbours,
with themselves and with nature.

Even as experts tell us that over 140 species
of small mammals, birds and insects inhabit just two of our townships,
we have to remain vigilant in how we care for these living environments
which Gamuda Parks has put in place there.
We look to sustainably manage our precious natural resources.
We compost, recycle and repurpose to handle our waste.
We use natural ways to keep our lakes clean and pristine.
These we do because it is part of our sustainable value.
We believe that we are going to leave the land in
a better shape than when we first received it.

Gamuda Parks is an initiative by Gamuda Land to drive consistency in the approach to the implementation and maintenance of parks within our townships. It is set up to spearhead this effort; consolidating the design process, biodiversity enrichment, conservation, township management and education to meet the needs of the future in a wholistic, forward-looking and complete manner. This is parallel with our brand value “Respecting nature and environment” and brand story “Listening to what the land has to tell us”.
We put together a group of experts to implement continuous improvements ideas for the maintenance of the greens within our townships and high rise developments. Our commitment is to create a more liveable environment for our community. A more enjoyable, closely knitted and a better integrated community. We believe our community deserve to live in a well-planned, clean, safe and accessible environment while staying connected to beautiful mother nature.
This initiative aims to formalize how the park environments within Gamuda Land developments are managed and communicated to residents and the general public. One of the approach is through BIODIVERSITY.
We at Gamuda Land fundamentally believe we are custodians of the land. We believe we’re going to leave the land in a better shape than we received it. We believe all our residents deserve to live in a well-planned, clean, safe and accessible environment.
That’s why we believe that listening to the land and living in harmony with nature is what defines our Gamuda Land townships and lets you and your family live a happier and healthier life. When biodiversity robustly returns to the environment we create, it speaks of the quality of the place that is healthy, conducive for living and life-supporting. As we live in places like this, we too will benefit from these good qualities.
Gamuda Parks was launched in May 2018. Since its inception, we have been conducting biodiversity audit in some of our townships. Studies from the audit will be used as a guidance in how we design our township, how we lay out the parks and lakes, how we select the tree species to be planted, how we can be eco-friendlier in our construction, and the type of material we use.
We have also started collaboration with the Forest Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) and Wetlands International Malaysia (WIM) as advisors and consultants in their respective areas of expertise. To-date, out of our total 7,006.96-acre developments, 1,600 acres are dedicated to green space. We have crafted 334.5 acres of waterscapes, including lakes, ponds, wetlands and streams and planted close to 250,000 trees in our developments.
Kundang Estates’ Community Farm saw its first seed on June 16, 2016 with help of our green fingered friends from Eats, shoots and Roots, a social organization which believes that food has the power to bring people together. With their insightful guidance, residents of Kundang Estates can learn just how easy it is to get started and experience the joy of growing their own greens.
