About Gamuda Parks

Gamuda Parks is an initiative by Gamuda Land to drive consistency in the approach to the implementation and maintenance of parks within our townships. It is set up to spearhead this effort; consolidating the design process, biodiversity enrichment, conservation, township management and education to meet the needs of the future in a wholistic, forward-looking and complete manner. This is parallel with our brand value “Respecting nature and environment” and brand story “Listening to what the land has to tell us”.

We put together a group of experts to implement continuous improvements ideas for the maintenance of the greens within our townships and high rise developments. Our commitment is to create a more liveable environment for our community. A more enjoyable, closely knitted and a better integrated community. We believe our community deserve to live in a well-planned, clean, safe and accessible environment while staying connected to beautiful mother nature.

This initiative aims to formalize how the park environments within Gamuda Land developments are managed and communicated to residents and the general public. One of the approach is through BIODIVERSITY.

How It All Started

We at Gamuda Land fundamentally believe we are custodians of the land. We believe we’re going to leave the land in a better shape than we received it. We believe all our residents deserve to live in a well-planned, clean, safe and accessible environment.

That’s why we believe that listening to the land and living in harmony with nature is what defines our Gamuda Land townships and lets you and your family live a happier and healthier life. When biodiversity robustly returns to the environment we create, it speaks of the quality of the place that is healthy, conducive for living and life-supporting. As we live in places like this, we too will benefit from these good qualities.

What We Have Done

Official Launch of Gamuda Parks

Gamuda Parks was launched in May 2018. Since its inception, we have been conducting biodiversity audit in some of our townships. Studies from the audit will be used as a guidance in how we design our township, how we lay out the parks and lakes, how we select the tree species to be planted, how we can be eco-friendlier in our construction, and the type of material we use.

We have also started collaboration with the Forest Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) and Wetlands International Malaysia (WIM) as advisors and consultants in their respective areas of expertise. To-date, out of our total 7,006.96-acre developments, 1,600 acres are dedicated to green space. We have crafted 334.5 acres of waterscapes, including lakes, ponds, wetlands and streams and planted close to 250,000 trees in our developments.

Kundang Estates

Kundang Estates’ Community Farm saw its first seed on June 16, 2016 with help of our green fingered friends from Eats, shoots and Roots, a social organization which believes that food has the power to bring people together. With their insightful guidance, residents of Kundang Estates can learn just how easy it is to get started and experience the joy of growing their own greens.
